This sculpture is large, it measures 8" long, 2" tall.
The sculpture is made out of Sanikiluaq stone argillite.

I acquired this piece primarily because it is a Kayak. Throughout my travels, I have always found Kayaks a harder piece to find. What I liked about this one, are the details that are added to the boat. Details such as the game that the hunter caught (the seal), the wooden ores and rope all add to the realisme and depth of the sculpture. This takes an abundance of time and discipline for the artist to do. The actual texture of the stone is quite remarkable as well. It has waved lines passing through the body which really illuminate it in its entirety.
The proportions, the subject, and smooth polish and finish are all without a doubt - perfect!
